How to Sign Up for Classes

Drop something out of your busy life and add one of these courses, which begin the last week of August!  First, read the class descriptions below, then click here to sign up online or fill out a form in the church office.  

If you are already planning to participate in a Bible study, consider taking a short break until you finish your 201 course...or sign up for an independent study. 


Courses Descriptions

Companions in Christ

Course Description: Companions in Christ is a course to help you intentionally form a life of prayer, meditation, and personal spirituality.  It is the work of spiritual formation.  Spiritual formation is the process by which God forms us into the persons we are meant to be, Christ-like persons. Being re-shaped according to the pattern of Jesus' mind, heart, and work is the gracious labor of the Holy Spirit, moving within us personally and among us as Christian community.

Course Load: Daily prayer journaling, regular Bible study, time spent in prayer & meditation.

Scheduling Options:   
  • Wednesdays, 6 PM – 7 PM, (2nd Floor Children's Bldg, Room 200),
  • Thursdays, Noon-1PM, (Brown bag), or
  • Sundays, 6 PM-7 PM

 Instructor: Pastor Bruce

Disciple Bible Study              

Course Description:  Basic introduction of each book of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. No prior knowledge or experience needed!  The Fall semester will be spent in the Old Testament from Genesis to Micah. Students will study the key themes, "main characters" and gain a better understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. The Winter semester will begin in January and cover the New Testament.

Course Load:  Daily Bible study.

Scheduling Options:
  • Wednesdays, 6 PM – 7:30 PM (FLC-B&D),
  • Mondays, 9:15 AM-10:45 AM (SALT Class), or
  • Sunday Nights, 6 PM-7:30PM (FLC-A)

Independent Study

Course Description: Meet with a spiritual director and develop a personalized plan to take your faith to the next level. Pastor Bruce or Dale will meet with you to listen to your spiritual needs and help design a plan accordingly.

Spring Preview

Run for God ~ the 5K Challenge

Course Description:  A guide to running and a twelve-week training plan aimed at running a 5K, but with a Christian focus. This Bible Study/Training Plan is designed for ALL  levels of runners, even those who have never run!  Learn to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ while understanding the parallels in enduring a sport like running and enduring your faith. 

Christian Apologetics

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." (I Peter 3:15)  In a secular age, how do we present our faith and answer the questions that non-Christians are likely to raise?  This class is about how to turn religious debates into spiritual conversations.    


Youth and Parent Courses 

Bible from Scratch

Course Description: WAHOO!!!! Do you think Moses ever said "Wahoo"???  I'm sure he found some ways to get those cranky Israelites' attention. Come take a tour through the wild times of Old Testament living during the Fall; then we'll keep strolling through the New Testament in the New Year. 

Course Load:  Optional Bible study at home

Scheduling: Sundays, 10 AM Hour

Prayer

Course Description:  U may B able 2 communic8 w/r besties in text, but God wants to hear more from U! 

Scheduling: Small Group Hour (Wed, 6:15PM-7 PM, Various Locations)
