Marriage License

Remember, you must have your license before the ceremony can be performed. To obtain a license, the couple must go together to the Marriage License. Department of the Duval County Courthouse at 330 East Bay Street, Room 101.

Applications are taken Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Both parties must have one form of identification: Driver's License, State Identification, Birth Certificate, or valid passport.

The fee for a marriage license is $88.50 payable in cash only. The license is good for 60 days after issuance.

If either party has been married before, he or she must know the date of the prior marriage. After the wedding, the minister will return the license to the Clerk to be recorded. The couple will receive a copy of the original.

A bound Certificate of Marriage is also issued by the church; however, it is not a legal document.
