Dear Friends,

As we enter into our Lenten discipline, I have encouraged you to look for that "One Thing" that you need to address in your relationship with God.  This is not just something that I have dreamed up to keep you busy with God.  It is important to have a good idea of what's next in our journey of faith.

While I was away on retreat, I tussled with this very same issue.  And believe me, this wasn't an easy assignment.  It took me quite a bit of time in prayer and meditation to get a sense of what God is calling me to do.  As difficult as this was, it has also been very rewarding.  It is perhaps one of the very best things I have ever done.

To give you encouragement, I offer you my journal that I kept on the retreat.  It is not the journal of some sort of "Holy Man."  You'll figure that out after a page or two.  But it is the journal of a man to whom God has been very gracious.   I hope it helps you on your own path.
