Down by the Creekbank Children's Musical on March 25th

Dear Parents,
I am very excited to announce that we will be producing a Spring Musical for your children to perform at 6pm on Wednesday, March 25th following Family Night Dinner. This musical "Down by the Creekbank" is a classic favorite that many of you may remember from your own church choir days! It is a touching celebration of the wonder and majesty of God's creation seen through the eyes of children as they spend an afternoon "Down By The Creekbank." This undertaking is a wonderful way for the children to participate in their own childlike praise and worship. We feel certain it will be a blessing to parents and others in the audience as well so invite your friends and family!
After reviewing the musical with the children and talking with them about their interests, we have assigned speaking parts, solos and motion leaders so that each Cherub and Wesley choir member has a time to "shine in the spotlight." Our Littlest Angels will participate as well with 2 fun and amusing songs that many of you may have already heard them singing, "Germs" and "Being Me". There will also be opportunities for children to help with making set components and items needed for costumes.
With more than 80 children in our 3 children's choirs, pulling off this Musical will be quite a feat! Our Children's Choir Directors, Christine Sasser, Heather Johnson and Katie Zahn along with their assistants and accompanists as well as our Drama Coach, Jeanette Yates are already hard at work teaching the children the songs and their parts. We have scheduled rehearsals during the regular Wednesday Night Choir and Kid's Academy times from 5:45 – 7:15pm. A few other rehearsals are necessary to be sure each child gets help with their featured part and so the entire group is able to practice together on stage in the Family Life Center.
Please take a minute to review the enclosed rehearsal schedule and note it on your calendar so your children are available. We do hope that every child is able to make these rehearsals and participate in the musical. If you have any questions or scheduling conflicts, please call or email me at a.cosper@southsidemethodist.org as soon as possible. If necessary, we can schedule a make up practice for your child or reassign a part if your child cannot participate.
Our Wednesday Night Kid's Academy and Children's Choirs are such a joyful part of Southside United Methodist Church. I have enjoyed working with the many adult volunteers who make this special time possible and who are donating their time and talents to serve our Lord in this way. Please join me in supporting this in this endeavor with your prayers and support. Should you be interested in assisting in any additional way, helping hands are always welcome and needed.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
