Seek God for the City 2009

Dear Southside Family,

During this Lenten season, I want to encourage you to join with your church family as we pray for our city, Jacksonville. Through the prayer guide, "Seek God for the City 2009," we are directed from Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday to pray for various needs of our community. We will pray for groups of people such as local churches, the news media, healthcare workers, and city leaders - just to name a few. 

There is power in prayer when a single Christian prays. I believe that there is dynamic power when and where a whole church family prays in unity for a common mission. Let's join together in praying for those outside the walls of our church, that God might be glorified in our community and his Kingdom extended into every sphere in Jacksonville.

Children's Companion Guide

Pick up a copy of the "Children's Companion to Seeking God for our City" in the front office or by clicking here.  This daily scripture and prayer is a companion to the adult book and great way to start/end the day with your child focused on Christ.

Family Prayer Pot Kits

We also have Family Prayer Pot Kits for those who missed the Ash Wednesday Children's Program. This weekly dinner activity is a fun way to get your family "on the same page" by seeking to emulate Christ through your actions as we draw near to God during this season.
